Influence of Edo Culture. When It Came to Kabuki, Danjuro Was the Best. When It Came to Banner Arts, Hiroshige Was the Greatest.
During the Edo period, Kai was relatively close to Edo, so always the latest culture was imported. This area features various culture developed by Samurais and ordinary people; such as documents written by "Kofu-kinban-shi" castle guards and "Makue" banner arts for Kofu Dosojin Festival drawn by Hiroshige Utagawa, one of the famous artists in the Edo Period.
